1. Why your dog scratches
Itching in dogs rarely has a single cause. The most common causes include:
- naturally more sensitive or drier skin, which reacts more to external aggressions (friction, hygiene products, seasonal changes);
- a fragile skin barrier, which allows irritants and environmental allergens to pass through more easily;
- an unsuitable diet, particularly common proteins like chicken, which are among the most frequently associated sources of food reactions in dogs;
- essential fatty acid deficiencies, which weaken coat quality and skin resistance over time.
In most cases, several of these factors combine, which explains why a topical approach alone (shampoo, spray) is not always enough: the problem often starts from within.

- Administer the entire daily dose at once in the morning (e.g., if your dog needs 3 chews per day, give all 3 at once).
- Always provide a bowl of clean water.
- If your dog has a sensitive stomach, introduce the chews gradually: 1 chew per day for 3 days, then 2 chews per day for 3 days, and so on until the recommended dose for their weight is reached.
- Plan for a minimum of 3 months of continuous use.

My name is Victoire, I am 34 years old and I come from Le Havre in Normandy. I worked for a major kibble brand and then in the human food supplement industry. In addition to that, I share my life with an adorable wire-haired dachshund named Rosty, who is now 4 years old. Seeing Rosty grow up and his immune system being put to the test, I wanted to create Weloca so that he could benefit from natural remedies to relieve him.
